Essential Skills Insights is an adaptable and measureable programme, giving young people the opportunity to learn and develop their essential skills - the highly transferable skills to help support us in any job. anywhere.
Objectives of the Essential Skills Insights programme:
- Support young people from more disadvantaged areas (Social Mobility cold spots) – to help support the growing gap in skills development
- Help support schools to reach their Gatsby Benchmarks (framework for good career guidance developed to support schools in providing students with the best possible careers):
- Benchmark 1 – a stable careers programme
- Benchmark 3 – addressing the needs of each pupil
- Benchmark 4 – linking curriculum learning to careers
- Benchmark 5 – encounters with employers and employees
- Benchmark 6 – experiences of workplaces
- Develop the skillset of young people by using the Skills Builder Partnership - Essential Skills framework (impact will be measured)
- Help to build our future pipeline – offer further opportunities to the pupils on completion of the programme (e.g. work experience)
- An opportunity for our employees to use their Social Impact Day
- Support our ESG Strategy – “Creating Opportunities”
The programme can be delivered virtually or face to face, across a number of workshops or in one full day - up to you and the School to decide what works best. The content is very interactive and students receive an interactive workbook to fill out during the programme so they can track their evidence.
